Antonio Jiménez Manjón: Preludio in A-Dur (11-strings guitar)
Descripción en Youtube:
Radmila Besic (http://www.radmilabesic.com) was asked to present the "Manjón"-guitar and one of Manjón's compositions for this instrument for a small selected audience on September 27 2011. Only short before the event, Radmila was provided with an 11-string instrument and some original compositions of Manjón. Despite the short time of only 5 days for preparation, we used the chance of having an 11-string instrument at hand again: We were allowed to do a quick recording right after the event. So here this nice little impression of Antonio Jiménez Manjón. Extra Details: Instrument: 11-string guitar built by Curt Claus Voigt: top: spruce back: black poplar (populus nigra) http://www.voigtguitars.com/WP/ Musician: Radmila Besic http://www.radmilabesic.com The Text contents of the video were inspired by a report about Antonio Jiménez Manjón, which was published on October 6 2011 as online content on German public radio BR-Klassik by Ulrich Möller-Arnsberg. Most of the facts given here are based on this report: http://www.br.de/radio/br-klassik/sendungen/allegro/antonio-jimenez-manjon-gitarre-virtuose100.html (link valid on 30. December 2011) Other information was found in internet research in late 2011 or part of R. Besic's or B. Hußnätter's musical education. Two overlays have been added to the video. This was nescessary to hide visual content that was not free for use. The image on the right in the video shows a picture of Manjón, which had been published in "La Ilustración Española y Americana" in 1888. The information about the 11-string guitar is based on Radmila Besic's experience with the instrument and the same sources as used for Manjón's life. Summing up these sources to fit into this small video has been done by Bernd Hußnätter.
