Title on Youtube:
Andrzej Panufnik - Concerto Festivo: a conductorless London Symphony Orchestra in 1979
Description on Youtube:
Andrzej Panufnik composed his Concerto Festivo as a concerto for orchestra, dedicated to and first performed by the London Symphony Orchestra at their 75th birthday concert at London's Royal Festival Hall on 17 June 1979. Although the remainder of the concert was conducted by André Previn, the Concerto Festivo is directed to be played without a conductor, and so it was here. 1. Solenne - allegro 0:00 2. Lirico - larghetto 03:26 3. Giocoso - prestissimo 10:15 This channel is not associated in any way with the London Symphony Orchestra, or its own CD label, LSO LIVE. These are recordings made by a LSO fan over a period of 40 years from 1977, and are not rips of LSO LIVE recordings. I have greatly enjoyed these performances over the years and just wish to share them with other music lovers.
